- Cancellations and Weather Policy

In the event that weather or other issues force us to cancel scheduled events, games or practices, we will take the following steps:

·         We will cancel as soon as possible to give teams as much notice as possible.

·         Once a game or program is determined to be cancelled, we will send out an email to everyone who is enrolled in our system and also post the cancellation on our City of Plattsburgh Recreation Department Facebook page.

·         Cancellations will be rescheduled as soon as possible. Occasionally we encounter conflicting schedules, time constraints or other events that prevent rescheduling games.  In such cases, we reserve the right to not reschedule, but we will only do this if absolutely necessary.

- Philosophy of Recreation Soccer: City of Plattsburgh outdoor youth soccer leagues are designed for participation and FUN.  Our philosophy is to provide a recreation outlet to all participants.  Participation, learning and fun, NOT competition, is the essence of our program.

- Wednesday Games:

U-8    6 versus 6 (goalie optional)        2-15 minute games           size 3 or 4 ball

U-10  5 versus 5 (6 w/goalie)              2-15 minute games           size 4 or 5 ball

U-12 5 versus 5 (6 w/goalie)                2-18 or 20 minute games  size 5 ball

-Coaches, the main priority is equal playing time for each child.  At 5:15pm each day, it is good to have a 10-15 minute practice session with your players and then follow the game lengths stated above.  I have attached practice plans for your division to help you with practice ideas and skills, and added some practice lessons below.

- NO REFEREE.  Coaches (or designated parent/friend) will Referee.  Please only have 1-2 coaches for both teams on the field at once.  Whistles will be provided by the City on the first day, if needed.
