CO-ED SOCCER RULES


Game ball: Size 5    Kick off is INDIRECT, Kick is towards the scoreboard.


Players: 7 V 7 (including one designated as the goal keeper)


There must be at least 5 players on each side to begin a game. 


Two of EACH gender MUST be on the field for a game to be played.


Teams can elect to play one player down to substitute ONE of that gender


Games will be officiated by at least 1 referee (plan is for 2). 


Substitutions: Teams may sub “on the fly” up to 2 players at any time during the game.  Subbing in more than 2 players must be done by alerting the referee to stop play until the substitutions are completed.  The time will not be stopped for any substitutions.


Safety: NO hard plastic or metal…. No jewelry. Can not be taped…must come off


Jerseys/Shirts:  Teams must have matching colors and distinguishing color for goal tender different than the other team players.  If teams playing each other have matching colors, pinnies will be provided by staff. 


Game time: Games will be 2-25 minute halves of running clock. 


Clock will start at :15 after and 5 minute grace period ends when clock hits 20 minutes


Lightning and/or thunder: if happens in first half…no game…. Game will be made up


If it happens at half or after…. Game is official. 


There is no overtime.


Fouls and Misconduct:


Direct free kick:  CONTACT FOULS as per NF.


Penalty kick: A penalty kick is awarded if a player commits any of the aforementioned offences inside his own penalty area, irrespective of the position of the ball the provided that is in play.


InDirect Free kick….  “dangerous play” , charge away from the ball, obstruction, etc.


There are no offsides


Yellow Cards: Any player receiving their first yellow card will be taken as a warning only. Team will have a “power Play”  If the team offended – scores- shorthanded team can re enter the player.


 If a player receives a second card, it will immediately result in a red card for that player, resulting in expulsion from the day, and the team will be shorthanded for 5 minutes – regardless of the number of goals scored.


Ball can not go “box to box”= penalty half field indirect.


NO SLIDING: IFK with no contact, DK with contact.  ONE WARNING, then CARD.


REGARDLESS OF OPPONENT OR BALL AROUND.


Goalie can slide in the box for a ball, GK legs MUST stay down, GK are urged to take extreme caution when sliding.


5 yards on all free kicks


 


PLAYOFF rules: Seed 1,2,3 get choice of ball or end.


In playoffs, SUDDEN VICTORY= First goal wins.


Overtime will start with 5 minutes on the clock.


There are NO SUBSTITUTIONS, even injury.


Start with NO GOALIE, play for 5 minutes.


TAKE ONE PLAYER OFF, play 2 minutes


Repeat until there is 2 v 2, play two minutes


Penalty kicks follows.  Rounds are AUTOMATIC SUDDEN VICTORY


Example- Team A scores, Team B does not. GAME OVER


the kick off is INDIRECT,


Any action that would lead to a PK, (handball, trip etc)  the team in which the infraction is called upon, loses.  GAME IS OVER (no pk is taken)

BEACH SOCCER RULES

 

Field of play: The sand field will be rectangular with marked boundary lines.  It will be divided into 2 halves by an imaginary halfway line marked by 2 flags outside the boundary.  The middle of this area will be the position for kickoffs.  All fields will be 30 yards by 40 yards.

Special Beach Field Note: Can/Am Beach Soccer is an outdoor event in an amazing location.  However, environmental conditions can occasionally be unpredictable.  Storms, high winds, water levels, water quality, and other environmental factors beyond our control can all have an effect on how the tournament is conducted.  Should the need arise, organizers will put a priority on public safety, followed by creating the best possible experience for all participants.  All tournament decisions will be made accordingly.  With this in mind, Can/Am Beach Soccer reserves the right to alter the field sizes, in-game player sizes, field locations, game times, number of guaranteed games, and other factors to ensure public safety and the best possible experience for all participants.

Game balls: Size 4 balls will be in use for all U8-U12 matches.  U14 and up will use size 5 balls.

Players: 6 V 6 (including goal keeper) with a maximum of 8 players on a roster.  There must be at least 4 players on each side to begin a game.  Games will be officiated by at least 1 referee. 

Substitutions: Teams may sub “on the fly” up to 2 players at any time during the game.  Subbing in more than 2 players must be done by alerting the referee to stop play until the substitutions are completed.  The time will not be stopped for any substitutions.

Safety: A player must not use equipment or wear anything (including any kind of jewelry) that could be dangerous to themselves or another player.  If the jewelry is unable to be removed then it may be taped.

Game Play: Each division of the tournament will be a triple elimination style tournament guaranteeing each team at least 3 games.

Ball Size: U8, U10, U12 will use Size 4 and U14 and above will use size 5.

Goal Size:  6 feet by 12 feet for all divisions.

Footwear: Bare feet or socks are allowed.  No shoes of any kind are permitted.

Coed Teams: Must have at least 1 female and 1 male on the court at all times or they must play a player down. 

Game time: Games will be 2-15 minute halves of running clock.  Teams will be permitted 1-30 second time out in each half.  Clock will only stop for time outs and injury.  Halftime will be 2 minutes long.

Arrival/Start time: Teams should arrive at the scheduled field 25 minutes prior to game time to be checked in and may warm up in any area not currently in use.  A team shall be allowed a 5 minute grace period to have the minimum 4 players to start or a forfeit will incur.

Extra Time: If the score is level after normal playing time, extra time of three minutes is played.  If the score is level after extra time, penalty kicks are taken from the imaginary penalty mark, by 5 players of each side.  If it is still tied after penalty kicks, then another penalty kick round will start.

Weather: Regardless of weather conditions, teams must appear at the appropriate field as scheduled, ready to play unless notified by a tournament staff member. 

Inclement Weather Policy: Severe weather could cause the shortening of division play.  Safety of everyone is the number one concern.

Champions: Teams winning their division championship will receive prizes.

Kickoffs: A kickoff is a way of starting or restarting each game.  A goal may not be scored directly from a kick off.  A coin flip will determine initial kick off with the opposing team getting the kickoff in the second half.  3 minute overtime will have a coin flip again for kick off possession.

Balls out of play: The ball is out of play when, it has wholly crossed the goal line or touchline, whether on the ground or in the air. Play has to be stopped by the referees.  A ball out of bounds may be thrown in or kicked in to play… it is up to the player to decide either way.

Goal scored: A goal is scored when the whole of the ball passes over the imaginary goal line between the goalpost and under the crossbar, unless it has been thrown, carried or intentionally propelled by the hand or arm by a player of the attacking side, including the goal keeper, and providing the team scoring the goal has not infringed the laws of the game.

Fouls and Misconduct:

Direct free kick:  A direct free kick is awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any of the following offences in a manner considered by the referees to be careless, reckless or using excessive force.  Kicks or attempts to kick an opponent, tackles or attempt to tackle an opponent, either by sliding or by bending down in front of or behind him.  Jump at an opponent; charge an opponent, strikes or attempts to strike an opponent, pushes an opponent. A direct free kick is also awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any of the following offences: hold an opponent, spits at an opponent, handles the ball deliberately, carries, propels or throws it with the hand or arm, (except for the goalkeeper in his own penalty area) holds the ball back deliberately with his legs in the opponents half so as to waste time, deliberately up trucks an opponent in the opponent’s half, prevents the goalkeeper from releasing the ball from his hands, touches the opponent before the ball when attempting to win possession.

Penalty kick: A penalty kick is awarded if a player commits any of the aforementioned offences inside his own penalty area, irrespective of the position of the ball the provided that is in play.

Conscionable offenses by players or substitutes: A player is cautioned if he commits any of the following offences: he is guilty of unsporting behavior, he shows dissent by word or action, he persistently infringes the laws of the game, he delays the restart of the game, he fails to respect the required distance during the kick off, corner kick, ball inbound or direct free kick, he enters or reenters the pitch without the referees’ permission or infringes the Substitution procedure, he deliberately leaves the pitch without the referees’ permission.

Offenses sanctions: A direct free kick is awarded to the opposing team if, the player taking the ball inbound plays the ball a second time before it has touched another player. The direct free kick is taken from the imaginary point in the middle of the halfway line. The ball inbound is retaking by a player of the opposing team if semicolons the ball inbound was taking incorrectly, the ball inbound was taken from a different place from where the pass over the touchline, the ball inbound was not taken within five seconds of taking possession of the ball, and the other infringements of law 14 has been committed.
